Ghana’s startup investor and incubator, Meltwater Entrepreneurial School of Technology (MEST) and South Korean OEM, Samsung Electronics have teamed up to equip entrepreneurs in West Africa.

MEST and Samsung finalized the deal earlier today at the 2015 Mobile West Africa currently underway in Lagos. Both companies plan to roll-out a series of events together in the coming weeks.

According to a statement from MEST obtained by TechCabal, Samsung will enable various stages of MEST’s three-part function; training, investing and incubating entrepreneurs.

“Samsung will support MEST by providing in-kind as well as subsidized devices and tablets that can be used to test out and further develop their solutions,” MEST said.

The MEST-Samsung partnership will also see the South Korean OEM work with MEST-incubated companies and facilitate introductions of market-fit and market-ready MEST startups to Samsung partners and portfolios.

The incubator, says on its part, will help provide Samsung general access and visibility with developers and entrepreneurs in West Africa.

Meanwhile, MEST has announced it has begun accepting applications for its next batch of Entrepreneurs in Training (EITs), plus it is hosting an informational recruitment session for Nigerian candidates signing up.
