Hong Kong startup incubator Nest is hosting a panel discussion on technology and finance as part of its speaker series, dubbed #WhatsNext. The panel discussion, held in partnership with Chase Bank Kenya, will bring together key players in the finance and tech industries, with the panel sharing the challenges, advancements, adoption and application of technology towards driving digital financial services in the developing world.

According to Aaron Fu Managing Partner for Africa at Nest, the #WhatsNext has provided a forum for startups, corporates, consultants, NGOs and other stakeholders in specific industries to come together and discuss what they see as the next big thing for their sector. “Nest is delighted to partner Chase Bank to power #WhatsNext FinTech,” Mr. Fu added. “This partnership builds on Chase Bank’s track record of supporting entrepreneurs and encouraging innovation in Kenya.”

For this month’s #WhatsNext FinTech forum, Nest has assembled senior finance executives and FinTech entrepreneurs on the panel, who will lead the discussion on Nairobi’s vibrant financial innovation ecosystem. These are:

  • Abdigani Diriye – Co-Founder at SuperFluid Labs
  • Angela Nzioka Co-Founder and Country Manager at Uhasibu

Lilian Mukabane, the Head of Innovation at Chase Bank Kenya, will deliver the opening keynote speech. The panel discussion will be moderated by Francis Mugane Director, Merchant Sales and Solutions at Visa and Aaron Fu of Nest.

“FinTech is growing focus area for leaders in the financial services industry,” Mr. Fu said in conclusion. “With the accelerating pace of innovation from both established banks like Chase Bank and Kenyan-born globally competitive startups like SuperFluid Labs, we can certainly expect the industry to evolve significantly in the coming years. But how will it change? We hope the diverse group of innovators at #WhatsNext will get us a little closer that answer.”

The event will be on Wednesday, 25th November at the iHub. RSVP here.
