Since it was founded in 2016, Ventures Platform has sought to deploy smart capital and growth support to entrepreneurs leveraging technology to solve problems across the African continent.  These companies are usually in their seed, early or growth stages. So far, they have invested in 26 companies and supported 200 entrepreneurs through various programs.

At the innovator showcase at the Fintech 2.0 Townhall, Mimshach Obioha, Director for Innovation and Entrepreneurship, makes a case for collaborations between legacy financial institutions and startups, as the future of the fintech sector in Nigeria. This, he said, will be achieved by leveraging individual strengths of both segments and finding ways to make up for weaknesses.
